As West House is a wing of a Victorian Mansion House, it has not been designed for anyone who finds climbing stairs a challenge.
For practical reasons we are not able to cater for families with small children - or pets.
West House is part of a grand (grade II star) listed Victorian Mansion House built on the Rousdon Estate by Sir Henry Peek in the late 1870s. It sits on top of magnificent cliffs on the Jurassic Coast, recently declared a World Heritage Site and now thought to be one of the natural wonders of the world.
You can wander around the 350 acre estate, through woodland and along clifftop walks - and enjoy great views to our private beach - or, if you are feeling more robust, you can take the coastal path to Lyme Regis in the east and Seaton in the west.
You also have easy access to many interesting local places including: Bridport, Beer, Branscombe, Sidmouth, Honiton, the Axe Valley, the Marshwood Vale and River Cottage. Local activities include walking, rambling, fishing, sailing, bird watching, fossil hunting as well as music, cinema and theatre. Go to our page on the local area for more information.
